There are two keywords used to describe the main objectives at Girls Rock Radio. They are Discover, and Elevate. Although more detail on what those words mean to Girls Rock Radio can be found on our About page, here's what they mean in terms of opportunity for you.
Girls Rock Radio is embarking on a bold new journey to bring even more value to our audience beyond just the music. The music is massively important to us, yes - after all, we are an internet radio station. But as the soundtrack to your awesome life, we want to help you explore ways to make that word - awesome - more tangible than ever before.
To do so, we're exploring all areas of life and lifestyles.
Girls Rock Radio seeks to partner with people who are passionate about what's important in their lives, and who want to share that passion with everyone. In doing so, you will help our audience better discover and explore that passion, and we in turn will elevate you as the expert in your area of passion.
Life is a never-ending stream of things to learn and experience. Health & fitness, fashion, finance, entertainment, education, dating, relationships, travel, technology, cooking, family, and yes - even gossip. Slip into any of these and we find so much more. Fashion reveals apparel, makeup artistry, scents, formal, informal, business, men, women, evening, jewelry, body art... You get the idea. Whether I listed it or not, what's your passion?
If you are bursting with passion, and if you can write about it, speak about it, or shoot video about it, Girls Rock Radio want's to talk to you about it. Let's be specific here. Girls Rock Radio is looking for passionate "journalists" (passion, not degree required) who can author articles for publication on the GRR website, or record audio podcasts, or shoot viral videos, all branded for Girls Rock Radio featuring YOU as the GRR authority on the matter. Diversity of ability where media creation is concerned is a definite plus. Age is not important, but you must be 14 or older in order to submit material to GRR. Teen journalists, unless speaking with obvious authority on adult matters may be slotted in age-relevant categories. A 16 year old, for instance, may find greatest voice as the "High School Dating" expert, or the "Back to School Fashion" expert, to name a couple and in contrast to the post-educational versions of the same topics.
Gender is not a factor. Boys, you can be the expert, too. GRR is not only for girls. In the creation of content, the best production may evolve as a collaborative, project-based effort between women and men who each lend their unique talent to the project. Girls Rock Radio will credit all members of "the team," or the individual, for the content submitted to Girls Rock Radio.
A separate, but distinct opportunity exists to become involved in the on-air aspect of Girls Rock Radio. If you have a great "radio voice" and would like to lend your talent on-air to promote our new website features, the station itself (Station IDs,) and perhaps even interviews with the artists, GRR want's to hear from you. To become involved at this level, you may need access to a professional recording studio - we don't want to hear the neighbor's motorcycle roaring off down the street in the background.
If you are on the faculty or staff of a media educational venue and are looking for interesting and unique ways to get your students involved in exciting forms of media, Girls Rock Radio wants to hear from you. Student of such a school? Let your instructors know about the opportunity at Girls Rock Radio. We would be delighted to help in the development of a for-credit or extra-credit program at your school, while simultaneously building your reputation and presence on Girls Rock Radio - a credential you can carry with you as you launch your awesome career.
